Weapons System Design Engineer

About the role

The Design Engineer will conceptualise, design and develop innovative solutions for small and medium calibre Remote Weapon Systems. This includes new prototype development as well as upgrades to existing products to improve performance and address obsolescence.

Key responsibilities

• Study requirements and generate design concepts considering performance, safety, cost, manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed drawings using Unigraphics or Pro‑Engineer.
• Manage system configuration, parts integration and product testing.
• Prepare documentation and test plans, conduct tests, analyse data and present conclusions.
• Collaborate daily with electrical/electronics engineers, software programmers, vendors and customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–4 years of experience in mechanical systems design (entry‑level candidates are welcome).
• Understanding of mechatronics and software design is an advantage.
• Analytical, meticulous, system‑thinking mindset; independent, self‑driven and able to work in a team.
• Willingness to travel overseas.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software – Unigraphics.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software – Pro‑Engineer.
