Workshop Machinist / Technician – Marine Engineering

About the role

The workshop Machinist/Technician will operate and maintain machining equipment in a marine engineering environment, ensuring high‑quality repair of turbocharger components and other precision parts. The role requires strict adherence to safety, quality and 5S standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain conventional lathe, milling, drilling and other machining equipment.
• Perform machining and repair of turbocharger components such as casings, turbine blades, rotors and other mechanical parts.
• Carry out turning, milling, drilling, tapping, boring and thread repair according to engineering requirements.
• Conduct dimensional checks using micrometers, vernier calipers, boremeter and other measuring tools.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair and re‑assemble turbochargers as required.
• Maintain machines, tools and work areas following 5S, safety and quality standards.
• Support workshop improvement activities to boost quality, safety and productivity.

Required profile

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical, Precision or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience as a Machinist, Mechanical Technician or Workshop Technician.
• Hands‑on experience with lathe, milling and drilling machines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances.
• Safety‑conscious, able to work independently and overtime when required.

• Basic monthly salary S$2,300–S$2,500
• Variable bonus up to 27.7% of total base pay
