Yield Enhancement Engineer

About the role

Micron is hiring a Yield Enhancement Engineer to identify and communicate the processing and design issues that cause low wafer yield, with a fast turnaround and an accurate approach. The role relies on daily analysis of inline, parametric, probe and experiment data to deliver top-in-class yield ramp and quality improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of yield data analysis, wafer fabrication processes and their common effects and signatures on yield and device performance.
• Use knowledge of semiconductor device physics, electronics and manufacturing to explain and resolve yield issues with statistical and data analysis tools.
• Communicate process and tool-related yield toggles to the fab process areas and support them in fixing them.
• Work closely with other internal Yield Enhancement groups and join multi-area focus teams to solve complex yield problems.
• Publish a clear Pareto of yield limiters for the assigned part type.
• Present data clearly in large meetings and support the transfer of next-generation technology from R&D to production fab.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools into daily work and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science.
• Strong analytical, logical and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communicator who can collaborate across all levels and has a growth mindset.
• Leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable; internship or semiconductor industry experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role-appropriate AI literacy to use AI tools responsibly for research, analysis, content creation, problem solving and operational tasks.
• Statistical and data analysis tools for yield troubleshooting.
