Accountant – 1 Year Contract (Singapore)

About the role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Singapore Controllership team at Marsh. This hybrid position, based in Singapore, involves overseeing day‑to‑day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial information, and supporting compliance and reporting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly closing process, including flash reporting and commentary, in collaboration with Accounting Operations in Kuala Lumpur and the Centre of Excellence in Mumbai.
• Conduct variance analysis, review account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance‑sheet analyses to resolve exceptional items promptly.
• Support audits and act as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee quarterly tax submissions and ensure adherence to local statutory and tax accounting and reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support finance operating requirements and resolve operational matters.
• Participate in departmental projects, providing ad‑hoc financial information and operational analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 8‑15 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational corporation and the insurance industry.
• Strong knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, Singapore financial reporting standards and Singapore tax regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
