Accountant – Build Finance Function in Growing Manufacturing Start‑Up

About the role

This is a high‑visibility opportunity to create and lead a finance function from the ground up within a fast‑growing manufacturing start‑up. You will work directly with senior stakeholders and help shape the financial backbone of the business as it expands across Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, tax and inter‑company transactions.
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts and financial reports to support strategic decision‑making.
• Lead month‑end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee tax reporting, statutory filings and audit requirements.
• Establish accounting policies, financial controls, approval workflows and reporting structures.
• Partner with senior management, shareholders and external service providers on financial matters.
• Support the setup and onboarding of new entities as the business expands.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle and month‑end closing.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, statutory compliance and taxation.
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented and comfortable in a fast‑growing start‑up setting.
• Experience with start‑up, greenfield, joint‑venture or newly established businesses is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required for communication with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders.
