Commercial Counsel – APAC (Singapore)

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Commercial Counsel to become the founding commercial legal hire in Singapore. You will partner with sales leaders across APAC, guiding complex technology transactions and ensuring compliance with emerging AI regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise sales leadership on commercial deals ranging from SMEs to large enterprises.
• Lead negotiations and close sophisticated agreements with diverse APAC organisations.
• Navigate jurisdiction‑specific regulatory requirements across multiple APAC markets.
• Design and implement scalable contract frameworks, playbooks, and processes for a fast‑growing sales organisation.
• Identify, analyse, and manage legal and regulatory risks while maintaining deal velocity.
• Monitor emerging AI‑related legal developments and provide strategic guidance.
• Build relationships with clients, regulators, and industry partners throughout the region.

Required profile

• Qualified to practise law in Singapore or another common‑law jurisdiction.
• Deep expertise in complex technology agreements and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to emerging technologies in APAC.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
• Proven ability to handle novel legal challenges in cutting‑edge technology contexts.
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to influence senior stakeholders.
