Head of Scientific Applications (Singapore)

About the role

Due to growth and strategic expansion, we are seeking an experienced Head of Scientific Applications (SG) to be the primary technical face for CuspAI projects in Singapore, leading local technical teams and translating commercial requirements into technical strategy and deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main technical point of contact for all CuspAI projects and partnerships in Singapore.
• Develop and articulate the technical capabilities of the CuspAI platform to partners and potential clients.
• Translate high‑level commercial requirements into well‑defined technical work packages and realistic deliverables.
• Work closely with Technical Program Managers, Application Scientists, and core ML and Platform Engineering teams to map timelines and allocate resources.
• Grow and manage a small local team of Application Scientists, providing line management, performance goals, and mentorship.
• Collaborate with the CTO, VP Platform Engineering and VP Scientific Engineering to align Singapore’s technical strategy with the global roadmap.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related computational field.
• Strong computational modelling background in chemistry or materials science.
• Deep subject‑matter expertise across multiple materials‑science disciplines (e.g., semiconductors, catalysis, separations, energy materials).
• Proven experience line‑managing and mentoring highly technical teams.
• Experience translating external project requirements into concrete deliverables.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for bridging deep‑tech and commercial domains.
• Personal passion for applying AI to world‑changing material challenges.
