Human Resources Director – Centres of Excellence

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director to lead our Centres of Excellence in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Talent Management, and Employee Relations for a leading public sector organisation. Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, you will shape strategic talent initiatives and ensure HR programmes remain relevant to evolving workforce needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee three critical HR portfolios—Talent Acquisition, Learning & Talent Management, and Employee Relations—and lead their functional teams.
• Shape a forward‑looking talent acquisition agenda, strengthening pipelines, employer branding and recruitment capabilities.
• Steer leadership and capability development, succession planning, high‑potential talent and organisational development initiatives.
• Anticipate future skills requirements and build sustainable talent and leadership pipelines.
• Provide oversight on employee relations and investigations, guiding senior stakeholders through complex and sensitive matters.
• Integrate the three portfolios to strengthen the overall talent proposition and ensure policies and practices stay aligned with workforce changes.

Required profile

• 15‑18 years of progressive HR experience with depth in Talent Acquisition, Learning & Talent Management and/or Employee Relations.
• Proven experience leading sizeable HR teams and developing enterprise‑wide talent programmes in large, complex organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, set strategic direction and navigate complex talent and employee matters.
