IT Governance Specialist – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, delivery‑oriented IT Governance Specialist to strengthen our IT governance processes, improve portfolio visibility and drive continuous improvement across the IT organisation. You will work closely with technology and business stakeholders to design, implement and maintain effective governance frameworks, controls and reporting mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve IT governance frameworks, processes and practices aligned with organisational objectives, industry standards and best practices.
• Establish and maintain governance structures such as committees, decision‑making processes, portfolio oversight and reporting mechanisms to ensure clear accountability.
• Define, embed and monitor governance controls and assessments across IT functions, driving remediation and closure with accountable owners.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal controls.
• Deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote governance adoption across the organisation.
• Support portfolio and project governance by overseeing intake, demand management, strategic alignment and value realization of new IT initiatives.
• Provide leadership with portfolio visibility, reporting and insights on project progress, risks, dependencies and resource utilisation.
• Partner with technology leaders to champion a governance culture that balances risk management, operational agility and innovation delivery.

Required profile

• Strong organisational and analytical capabilities with a creative mindset for simplifying processes.
• Proven experience in designing or managing IT governance, portfolio or project governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills to act as a trusted advisor to technology leadership and cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to stay current with emerging governance trends, technologies and best practices.
