IT Security Officer – Cybersecurity Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Officer to strengthen our security operations and governance. In this consultancy role you will oversee security vendors, manage testing cycles, and provide expert advice to ensure government systems stay resilient against evolving cyber threats.

Key responsibilities

• Manage security vendors and deliverables.
• Coordinate periodic security testing cycles.
• Assess mitigation and remediation plans for adequacy and effectiveness.
• Drive timely mitigation of identified risks.
• Review security reports, alerts, advisories and security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Provide cybersecurity consultancy to internal teams and key stakeholders.
• Respond to security alerts, handle incidents and conduct security awareness training.
• Broadcast email security advisories to end users.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related field.
• 4–7 years of experience as a cybersecurity analyst, security consultant or similar role.
• Mandatory CISSP and/or CISM certification.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities with clear communication skills.

Required skills

• Network protocols and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools and SIEM platforms.
• Scripting with Python and PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001 frameworks and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
