Legal Counsel, Regulatory and Product

About the role

We are looking for a talented Legal Counsel with strong regulatory and product advisory experience to join our Legal team in Singapore. The role involves advising on compliance with financial services and payments regulations, interacting with regulators, and supporting product launches across the Checkout.com group.

Key responsibilities

• Support relationships with regulators on licence‑related matters.
• Manage the legal and regulatory strategy for launching new products and services.
• Advise on payments regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance on broader regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions and group change projects.
• Research and evaluate new territories for market expansion, including licence applications.
• Inform business functions of new regulatory developments impacting operations, products and contracts.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or lawyer with 3–7 years post‑qualification experience, either in‑house or in private practice.
• Strong understanding of payments ecosystem, regulatory and licensing strategies, and broader financial institution law.
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to handle multiple high‑priority projects.
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment.
• Solution‑oriented, able to work autonomously and collaboratively as needed.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal issues clearly.
• Enthusiasm for new challenges and willingness to develop expertise in various areas of law.
