Material Executive / Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Material Executive / Buyer ensures that the right materials are sourced at the right price and delivered on time to support production. You will work closely with suppliers, quality, and production teams to maintain strong vendor relationships and guarantee material availability.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate optimal pricing for first‑article items and regular production materials.
• Lead purchasing officers and assistants in daily procurement activities.
• Facilitate first‑article approvals and keep purchase records accurate.
• Coordinate with suppliers, Quality Control, and Production to resolve quality or delivery issues promptly.
• Generate shortage reports in SAP, prepare delivery schedules, and communicate them to suppliers.
• Manage rejected items by arranging replacements or issuing credit notes.
• Audit existing suppliers and assess new suppliers for qualification.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
• Experience with international sourcing is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of legal terminology related to supplier contracts.
• Experience in BOM cost management and part costing analysis.
• Proven project‑management skills and ability to execute commodity strategies.
