Night Shift Build Operations Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Night Shift Build Operations Manager to lead production activities for capital equipment and system manufacturing. The role is based in Singapore and focuses on ensuring efficient, safe, and on‑time delivery of high‑quality semiconductor and display equipment during night‑shift operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees across assembly, inspection, test, and final test functions for electronic, mechanical, and electro‑mechanical components.
• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity, and material requirements.
• Participate in operational meetings, track performance metrics, and schedule milestone reviews.
• Drive cycle‑time improvements and other key production metrics.
• Respond promptly to operational issues affecting customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with customer/vendor requirements.
• Prepare cost‑of‑quality analyses and initiate corrective actions.
• Oversee safety programs, ensure all staff receive required Environmental, Health and Safety training, and monitor compliance.
• Develop personnel through training, career development, performance management, and coaching.
• Manage hiring, rewards, and disciplinary processes for the team.
• Support capacity‑optimization analysis and implementation of production improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising production or operations teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to prioritize work, manage schedules, and meet production targets.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on quality and cost reduction.
• Commitment to safety and experience implementing safety training and procedures.
• Leadership skills to develop staff, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement.
