Options Trading Systems Engineer

About the role

The Equity Options team at DRW is seeking a Trading Systems Engineer to support and enhance proprietary trading systems in the APAC region. You will work closely with traders, researchers and developers to ensure a stable, high‑performance environment for option trading strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Establish best‑in‑class production support, software deployment, configuration processes and proactive monitoring to minimize downtime.
• Develop and maintain proprietary automation and monitoring tools, leveraging third‑party technologies when appropriate.
• Troubleshoot production incidents caused by internal software or external factors such as market data feeds and telecommunications.
• Gain deep understanding of APAC option trading to enable effective trading decisions.
• Coordinate with European and US option trading teams to share best practices and ensure 24x7 support continuity.
• Understand exchange data‑center layouts and hardware infrastructure to optimise system configuration.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in trade support, site reliability engineering or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, preferably computer engineering.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and familiarity with common troubleshooting tools.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Postgres).
