Principal Pharmacist, Inpatient

About the role

The new Tengah General and Community Hospital is building a state‑of‑the‑art inpatient pharmacy service. As the Principal Pharmacist, Inpatient you will lead the pharmacy team, ensure safe medication delivery, and shape operational processes for a modern, forest‑integrated health campus.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accurate processing of medication orders, including verification, preparation and supply.
• Manage discharge medication workflow to minimise delays and improve patient satisfaction.
• Design and refine pharmacy workflows to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
• Develop and maintain staff rosters, monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing as needed.
• Mentor, supervise and train pharmacy staff, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with nursing teams to optimise medication administration and safety.
• Lead incident investigations, implement corrective actions and monitor stock levels in inpatient areas.
• Utilise automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) and other inpatient pharmacy systems effectively.
• Conduct regular team meetings and drive initiatives that enhance patient experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hospital or medical institution.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Experience with automated dispensing cabinets (ADC).
• Proficiency in operating inpatient pharmacy systems.
