Purchasing Executive – FMCG & Food Services

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Purchasing Executive to support our client in the food wholesaler and distribution sector. You will manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, ensuring the right products are sourced at the right price and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders, handling local procurement tasks efficiently.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable payment terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to align procurement plans with demand forecasts and maintain product availability.
• Coordinate with Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure smooth receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.
• Monitor inventory levels, resolve stock discrepancies, and minimise shortages, excess inventory, and product wastage.
• Verify the quality and quantity of incoming goods, especially those with shelf‑life considerations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier documentation, and purchasing reports in compliance with company policies and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing or supply‑chain operations.
• Experience with food products or shelf‑life inventory is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP).
• Data analysis using Excel.
• Experience with SAP HANA or other ERP systems.
