R&D Director – Automotive, Ubiquitous & LiDAR

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced R&D Director to lead its automotive, ubiquitous technology and LiDAR research programmes. Reporting to senior leadership, you will shape the strategic direction, build high‑performing teams and ensure timely delivery of cutting‑edge products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end R&D team formation, daily operations and standardised processes to deliver product research efficiently.
• Own R&D project planning, monitor progress and manage execution to guarantee on‑time, high‑quality outcomes.
• Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration, aligning business needs, technical solutions and project timelines for continuous iteration.
• Oversee performance appraisals, talent development and retention, fostering a positive culture and strengthening overall R&D capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• At least 8 years of R&D experience in camera, optics, electronics, power or structural engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of team‑management experience.
• Proven overseas project delivery experience, preferably in Singapore or the United States.
• Familiarity with R&D team management and standardised project‑management systems.
• Result‑driven, accountable and able to operate under high pressure.
