Research Fellow (Carbon-Material-Enhanced Concrete)

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NTU Singapore seeks a Research Fellow to advance smart solid carbon‑sequestered concrete materials. The role involves research and development of innovative carbon‑enhanced concrete solutions with potential applications in conductive structures, energy storage, and sensing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new carbon‑material‑enhanced concrete, including conductive concrete, structural batteries, supercapacitors, and smart devices such as energy harvesters and sensors.
• Conduct comprehensive testing of all aspects of the advanced concrete materials developed.
• Perform cost‑benefit and Life‑Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyses for the newly developed materials.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of carbon‑material‑enhanced concrete or geopolymer materials.
• PhD in Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
• Hands‑on experience with relevant analytical and experimental techniques and a solid theoretical background.
• Excellent scientific paper and report writing skills.
