Senior Assistant Director, Community Engagement and Partnerships

About the role
The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) and the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) at NTU are seeking a senior leader to head community engagement, communications, education‑marketing and partnership functions. Reporting to the Interim Director of EOS and/or Chair of ASE, the incumbent will shape strategy, restructure the newly merged office and drive financial sustainability.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the restructuring of the Community Engagement and Partnerships office and develop a five‑year strategy covering communications, events, education marketing and partnerships.
- Oversee integrated communications, media relations, social‑media strategy and brand management for EOS and ASE.
- Build strategic storytelling and reputation management to translate complex research into narratives for policymakers, funders, media and the public.
- Manage external engagement programmes such as school outreach, open houses, conferences, delegations and signature events.
- Develop and execute partnership strategies with industry, government and academia, and strengthen international academic reputation.
- Ensure financial sustainability through grants, continuing‑education revenue and external partnerships.
- Supervise a high‑performing team, manage budgets, external vendors and analytics reporting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public policy, environmental science or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- 15+ years of senior experience in community engagement, communications and partnership building, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading multi‑disciplinary teams, delivering multi‑year strategies and organisational restructuring.
- Strong relationships with government, industry and academic stakeholders in Singapore and/or Southeast Asia.
- Experience securing financial sustainability through grants and earned revenue.
