Senior Counsel – APAC (Singapore)

About the role

DDN is looking for a Senior Counsel to lead commercial contracting across the Asia‑Pacific region, with a focus on Greater China. Based in Singapore, the role reports to the VP, Head of Commercial Contracting and works closely with sales, finance and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS/subscription terms, enterprise licence agreements, channel, OEM and NDA contracts.
• Translate and adapt global contracting playbooks, templates and clause libraries into Chinese‑language agreements.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Revenue Recognition and Product/Engineering to align contracting processes with DDN’s go‑to‑market and pricing models.
• Provide guidance on local legal, regulatory and cultural considerations for contracts in China and other APAC markets.
• Support regional legal matters such as real‑estate leases, vendor agreements and employment contracts.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and global Legal on corporate and compliance issues, escalating high‑risk matters.
• Drive improvements in contract cycle time, accuracy and consistency, reporting metrics to executive leadership.
• Act as a change agent to adopt new tools, templates and ways of working as the global contracting function evolves.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in commercial contracting or legal roles within a global enterprise software or SaaS company.
• Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin (Cantonese a plus) and English.
• Admission to practice law in Singapore or another relevant jurisdiction (e.g., Greater China, England & Wales, Australia, US).
• Bachelor’s degree required; JD, LLB, LLM or equivalent legal qualification.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements and advise cross‑functional stakeholders.
