Senior Nurse Educator

About the role

The Senior Nurse Educator will lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing education programmes at our Novena facility. Working closely with the Nurse Manager and clinical staff, you will ensure that nurses at all levels maintain high standards of patient care and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct training needs analyses to identify skill and knowledge gaps.
• Design, coordinate and deliver orientation, in‑house training and specialised education programmes.
• Source external learning opportunities and organise conferences, seminars and workshops.
• Guide clinical instructors and preceptors on student and staff competency matters.
• Support incident investigations involving nursing students and uphold compliance with patient care standards.
• Supervise nurses of all grades, assess competency and identify deficits.
• Plan staff development for advanced qualifications such as Advanced Diplomas or CCMDA.
• Manage training budget and market programmes to external organisations.
• Coordinate clinical placements for nursing students and arrange external attachments.
• Serve as a role model for clinical practice, develop audit tools and assist in emergency patient care.
• Promote nursing research by reviewing literature, encouraging staff participation and applying findings.
• Assist in accreditation processes and departmental strategic planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
• Degree in Nursing or a post‑basic qualification in Education or a clinical specialty.
• WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP).
• Minimum 7 years of clinical nursing experience.
