SEO & GEO Lead – Digital Marketing Agency

About the role

The SEO/GEO Lead will manage and develop a team of SEO specialists while delivering comprehensive SEO and Generative Engine Optimization strategies for clients. This position blends leadership, deep technical knowledge of traditional and AI‑powered search, and strong client‑facing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, train and evaluate a team of SEO specialists, ensuring KPI achievement.
• Design and execute on‑page, off‑page and technical SEO strategies, including backlinking and AI‑driven content optimization.
• Develop and monitor GEO strategies for AI‑generated search results, creating citation‑worthy content and tracking performance metrics.
• Conduct website audits, derive action plans, and oversee guest‑post hygiene.
• Participate in client pitches, maintain ongoing communication, and align SEO/GEO tactics with client goals.
• Produce monthly performance reports, track team metrics, and drive process improvements through automation and tool integration.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proven expertise in on‑page, off‑page and technical SEO, including audits and backlink strategies.
• Working knowledge of Generative Engine Optimization and AI‑powered search platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews).
• Experience handling multiple client accounts and collaborating with sales, account servicing and creative teams.
• Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder‑management abilities.
