Site Engineer – Installation & Commissioning

About the role

The Site Engineer will be the primary on‑site contact responsible for the technical integrity and smooth operational flow of the installation phase. You will ensure industrial systems are installed to engineering specifications, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project quality, delivery timelines, and compliance with client and consultant requirements.
• Maintain accurate execution documentation, meeting minutes, and project filing systems.
• Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants, and owners.
• Oversee installation teams and subcontractors to meet defined quality and EHS standards.
• Coordinate schedule communication, change management, and commercial deviation handling.
• Conduct weekly project meetings, daily inspections, and pre‑commissioning checks to minimise rework.
• Verify subcontractor man‑hours, progress claims, and control installation costs.
• Manage equipment off‑loading, positioning, and site readiness (utilities, foundations, access).
• Maintain daily site activity logs and collate As‑Built documentation for handover.
• Assist in the commissioning phase and perform delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing installation projects in an industrial or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of Workplace Safety Health (WSH) regulations and ability to review and approve safety documents.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to produce clear meeting minutes and reports.
• Effective communication with clients, consultants, owners, and subcontractors.
• Ability to coordinate logistics for equipment delivery and site preparation.

Required skills

• Interpretation of P&IDs, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Project scheduling and progress tracking.
• Safety documentation preparation (Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe Work Procedure, Lifting Plan, etc.).
• Pre‑commissioning checks and punch‑list management.
• Cost control and subcontractor claim verification.
