Software Lead Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground‑breaking technologies such as machine learning and AI to craft novel software solutions that solve high‑value customer problems in semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop code for complex software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices.
• Develop software documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot a variety of difficult software problems.
• Design and implement bug fixes.
• Define software specifications and test plans for simulators, test benches or the lab.
• Communicate with internal and external customers for requirement analysis, project scheduling and software troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++.Net, C#, operating systems, networking principles, algorithms, multi‑threading and RPC.
• Master’s degree (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and key business drivers.
• Leadership skills to lead small projects as needed.
