Tax Director – Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Director to lead Deloitte’s Financial Services Tax practice in Singapore. The role combines client relationship management, team leadership and delivery of complex tax advisory and compliance projects for banking, insurance, investment management and emerging digital asset clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own and grow existing client relationships while actively acquiring new business.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of tax professionals, overseeing their technical and operational growth.
• Deliver high-quality tax advisory and compliance engagements, including M&A due diligence, structuring and SPA support.
• Collaborate with partners, subject-matter experts and cross-functional teams to provide integrated solutions.
• Monitor regulatory developments in financial services and shape new service offerings.
• Represent Deloitte as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the market.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of corporate tax experience, preferably in a Big Four, international accounting firm, law firm or financial institution.
• Experience in both tax compliance and advisory, with strong leadership and client-engagement skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field.
• Demonstrated commercial acumen, sound judgment and excellent communication abilities.

Required skills

• CPA or CA certification (strongly preferred).
• SCTP accreditation (advantageous).
• Deep expertise in one or more financial-services subsectors such as banking, capital markets, insurance, investment management, real estate or digital assets.
