Technician, Special Process

About the role

The Special Process Technician supports aerospace MRO operations by executing repair processes and maintaining critical equipment such as welding stations, vacuum furnaces, chemical cleaning lines and hot presses. The role ensures compliance with technical data, safety standards and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment, vacuum furnace (VFS), chemical cleaning line and hot press according to approved SOPs.
• Perform burnout cycles for VFS and coordinate tank cleaning with the maintenance team.
• Execute daily 5S and preventive‑maintenance tasks using the prescribed checklist.
• Troubleshoot simple machine issues and resolve technical problems on the shop floor.
• Maintain tooling and fixtures, segregate worn items and report for corrective action.
• Participate in audits, inspections, new‑product development and continuous‑improvement programs.
• Support EHS, quality, and company policies while training and being trained to upgrade skills.
• Assist operations leaders in day‑to‑day activities to meet company goals.

Required profile

• NITEC in Precision Machining, Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Experience with TIG welding, heat‑treatment and chemical‑cleaning processes, preferably in an MRO environment.
• Willingness to work overtime, stand for extended periods and lift heavy parts.
• Ability to follow safety practices and documentation.
