Vice-President/Director (Financial Sponsors)

About the role

The Vice‑President/Director will lead origination and execution of financial sponsor transactions across the APAC region (excluding Japan) for Mizuho Bank. The role combines M&A advisory, acquisition finance, structured products and capital‑markets coverage to serve existing and prospective sponsor clients and their portfolio companies.

Key responsibilities

• Originate and support M&A advisory, acquisition finance (recourse and non‑recourse) and other structured products such as fund, project and real‑estate finance.
• Coordinate equity and debt capital‑market solutions (ECM, DCM) through Mizuho Securities entities.
• Provide ancillary services in event‑driven deals, including FX, derivatives, trade financing and transaction banking.
• Maintain strategic dialogue with financial sponsor clients, prepare presentations and pitch‑books, and work closely with sector, product and country bankers across APAC, the Americas and EMEA.
• Lead deal execution when required, managing client teams, external counsel and internal stakeholders.
• Support development of distribution capabilities in the private/credit space and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Senior finance professional with extensive experience in the financial sponsor/ private‑equity space.
• Proven track record in M&A advisory, acquisition finance and structured finance transactions.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional deal teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Strong client‑coverage skills with a focus on strategic engagement.
