Assistant Property Underwriter

About the role

The Assistant Property Underwriter supports senior underwriters in the property insurance division, helping to evaluate risks, price policies and manage reinsurance arrangements. The role focuses on delivering customer‑focused products while protecting the company’s profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pre‑ and post‑underwriting support, including loading client and account data into TMK pricing tools.
• Track and manage incoming submissions, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.
• Coordinate catastrophe (CAT) modelling and perform any required sanctions screening.
• Conduct accumulation checks where applicable and flag potential reinsurance needs.
• Maintain internal networks to facilitate information flow between functions and support underwriters and clients.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the underwriting book of business and key stakeholder relationships.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory conduct rules (PRA, FCA) and company risk appetite.
• Identify and manage conflicts of interest and ensure fair treatment of customers.
• Support the development of new insurance products, services and distribution channels.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TMK pricing tools.
