Senior Manager / Assistant Director Enterprise Risk Management

About the role

The Singapore Institute of Technology seeks an experienced enterprise risk management professional to lead and strengthen its Enterprise Risk Management programme, working closely with senior management and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous enhancement of the university’s ERM framework, policies, methodologies, tools, taxonomy, rating criteria and reporting standards.
• Drive the enterprise risk review cycle, maintain risk registers, risk appetite statements, key risk indicators, dashboards and management reports.
• Monitor internal and external developments to identify emerging risks and cross‑cutting vulnerabilities.
• Assess risks of new programmes, initiatives, third‑party engagements and recommend controls and mitigation measures.
• Analyse operational risk incidents to identify root causes and opportunities to strengthen controls.
• Partner with academic and corporate stakeholders to facilitate risk discussions and promote ownership.
• Design and deliver briefings, workshops and capability‑building initiatives to enhance risk literacy.
• Support engagements with auditors, consultants, government agencies and governance bodies on risk, assurance and compliance matters.

Required profile

• A recognised university degree.
• 8‑10 years of relevant experience in enterprise risk management, preferably in higher education, the public sector or a complex matrix organisation.
• Post‑graduate qualification or professional certification in risk management, internal audit, business continuity, governance or related discipline (advantageous).
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex information and produce clear, actionable recommendations.
• Excellent writing, presentation, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and project leadership capabilities.
• High standards of integrity, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, risk appetite, key risk indicators, risk registers and mitigation planning.
• Experience with assurance processes and management reporting.
