Diagnostic Scientific Liaison

About the role

AstraZeneca is seeking a Diagnostic Scientific Liaison to bridge scientific expertise and commercial objectives. This hybrid position combines field engagement with office‑based analysis to shape local diagnostic strategies and support the launch of innovative companion diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Spend approximately 50% of time in the field engaging with histology labs, molecular diagnostics labs, lab networks and healthcare professionals to gather insights.
• Identify barriers and unmet needs in diagnostic testing and translate findings into actionable local strategies.
• Execute tactical plans to educate stakeholders on appropriate testing and support the adoption of companion diagnostics.
• Compile and monitor diagnostic data, ensuring timely, high‑quality testing performance across partner labs.
• Collaborate closely with Field Sales, Medical Scientific Liaisons and cross‑functional teams to address diagnostic inquiries.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external diagnostic stakeholders such as pathologists, molecular pathologists, kit suppliers and scientific organizations.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree; preferably an advanced degree in health sciences, life sciences or biomedical sciences.
• Strong understanding of traditional diagnostic methods (immunohistochemistry) and molecular diagnostics technologies (NGS, ISH).
• Hands‑on experience in a molecular laboratory environment is preferred.
