Laboratory Manager – Forest & Urban Ecology

About the role

The Asian School of the Environment at NTU is seeking a Laboratory Manager to support its Forest & Urban Ecology research labs. The role involves overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring safety compliance, and providing technical support to students and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement of chemicals, consumables, field equipment and scientific instruments to meet research needs.
• Maintain comprehensive chemical inventories across multiple labs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee equipment maintenance schedules, service records and lifecycle management for analytical instruments.
• Provide training and troubleshooting assistance for instruments such as iSEAL, TOC/TN analyzer, ICP‑OES, CHN analyzer and GC‑MS.
• Support laboratory safety through regular inspections, risk assessments and participation in the safety committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or a related field.
• Experience working in a chemical or biological laboratory, including familiarity with laboratory safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
