Lead Counsel – Singapore (Vice President level)

About the role

Citi is seeking a senior legal professional to serve as Lead Counsel for its Singapore operations. The role provides strategic legal advice to the Banking and Services businesses, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations while supporting commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and support to Corporate Banking, Commercial Banking, Investor and Issuer Services functions in Singapore.
• Advise Citi Country Officers on regulatory, franchise and reputational risks, and interpret relevant laws and industry practices.
• Coordinate internal and external legal resources to deliver cost‑effective solutions.
• Support strategic initiatives by offering guidance on legal and regulatory matters.
• Develop a deep understanding of Citi’s Singapore business and its associated legal risks.
• Collaborate across internal lines to ensure consistent legal risk management.

Required profile

• Senior‑level legal professional with extensive experience in Singapore banking and financial services law.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate legal risk into business‑friendly solutions.
• Proven track record of advising senior management on complex regulatory issues.
• Excellent judgment and ability to influence strategic decisions.
