Legal Counsel – Public Health & Infectious Diseases

About the role

The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA) is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across public‑health initiatives, laboratory testing, and international collaborations. You will work closely with senior management to shape policy and operational outcomes in the fight against infectious diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Advise, draft and review contracts, international agreements, organisational changes, disputes and judicial reviews involving CDA.
• Assist policy divisions in formulating and vetting legislation and provide legal advice on operational matters, including the issuance of legal orders under the Infectious Diseases Act 1976.
• Collaborate directly with senior leaders to influence public‑health policy and implementation.

Required profile

• Tertiary law degree and qualification to practice in Singapore.
• 2‑4 years of experience handling transactions, disputes, advisory and prosecutorial matters.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and statutory‑interpretation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, understand operational contexts and mobilise stakeholders.
