Manager, Air Freight Handling

About the role

The Manager, Air Freight Handling is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of DHL's Physical Operations (X‑Dock). This role ensures that freight is handled safely, efficiently, and in compliance with DHL standards while coordinating with internal departments and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the X‑Dock, including warehouse, terminal, and trucking activities.
• Define operating standards, develop systems, and determine manpower requirements.
• Optimize equipment and material utilization, plan maintenance, and manage inventory control.
• Facilitate inter‑departmental communication to ensure smooth coordination.
• Enforce proper handling and transport procedures to protect customer freight.
• Provide on‑the‑job guidance, training, and direction to staff on service standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact for warehouse system enhancements and maintenance.
• Manage ad‑hoc warehouse projects and collaborate with external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree with 5‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in managing physical freight handling operations.
• Prior experience leading large, shift‑based teams.
