Purchasing Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team in sourcing ad‑hoc materials and ensuring timely delivery of goods. The role involves driving to supplier locations, maintaining accurate records, and providing administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing ad‑hoc materials as per company requirements.
• Drive to suppliers' locations or designated sites to purchase or collect items promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Support inventory management and stock reconciliation as needed.
• Provide administrative support to the procurement team, including data entry and filing documents.
• Follow safety guidelines and keep the company vehicle in good condition.

Required profile

• Valid Class 3 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in a similar procurement or logistics role.
• Excellent driving skills and familiarity with local roads and traffic regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Valid Class 3 driver’s licence.
• Knowledge of ISO, HACCP and BRC documentation requirements.
