Senior Legal Counsel – Payments & Digital Assets

About the role

OSL is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to guide its global licensing, regulatory and compliance initiatives across the payments and digital‑asset space. The successful candidate will work hands‑on with business, compliance and risk teams to ensure the company meets evolving legal requirements in a fast‑moving crypto environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on global licensing and regulatory requirements for payments and digital‑asset businesses.
• Support license applications, renewals and ongoing engagements with regulators in multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor and interpret changes in laws affecting crypto, digital assets and financial services.
• Draft, review and negotiate legal documents related to regulatory and licensing matters.
• Collaborate with compliance, risk and business teams to align regulatory strategies across jurisdictions.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulators on licensing and regulatory issues.
• Assist internal stakeholders on regulatory‑driven legal and governance matters.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post‑qualification experience, trained at international law firms.
• Demonstrated expertise in cryptocurrency, digital‑asset and payment‑related legal matters.
• Strong knowledge of global financial‑services regulations and licensing frameworks.
• Proven legal drafting and project‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑border environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
