Strategic Buyer

About the role

The Strategic Buyer will support Airbus’s General Procurement function for the Asia‑Pacific region, focusing on indirect spend in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of General Procurement APAC, the role ensures compliance with procurement processes while driving cost savings, sustainability, and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes, validate and issue Purchase Orders.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects, including tenders and transnational initiatives, and negotiate contract terms.
• Draft, negotiate and administer contracts to mitigate risk throughout the supplier lifecycle.
• Act as a strategic partner to internal customers, leading multi‑functional teams to implement procurement strategy and conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain supplier relationships, execute projects to optimise total cost of ownership, and ensure adherence to Airbus values and code of conduct.
• Mentor and coach buyers in other locations, providing guidance on best practices and recruitment process outsourcing.
• Support regional change management, strategic execution, and serve as escalation point for complex issues.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including human‑rights compliance and Supplier Code of Conduct deployment.
• Lead regional strategic projects, track progress and report to stakeholders across Asia‑Pacific.
