Assistant Electrical Engineer – Battery Management Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of battery management system hardware and firmware. The role focuses on battery protection circuits, sensor integration, and MCU firmware implementation within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware for battery protection circuits, including selection and control of contactors and relays.
• Create and test battery sensor circuits for voltage, current, and temperature measurement.
• Develop firmware for battery protection schemes in the BMS, covering over/under voltage, current, and temperature safeguards.
• Evaluate battery State‑of‑Charge (SoC) and implement related firmware functions.
• Research, compare and select appropriate microcontroller units (MCUs) for BMS firmware.

Required profile

• Higher Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing and testing BMS protection circuits.
• Firmware development experience for MCU‑based battery protection.
• Ability to design and test measurement circuits within a BMS.
• Experience sourcing and procuring electrical components.
• Project planning and implementation skills.
