Career Coach – Guide Students to Future‑Ready Careers

About the role
To support NTU Education 2025 and beyond, this role is critical as part of the Career & Attachment Office (CAO) strategy to develop NTU students into future‑ready graduates. The Career Coach, also acting as a Career Business Partner to Schools and Colleges, guides, coaches and empowers NTU undergraduate and postgraduate students in personal self‑discovery, career exploration and professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 personalised career coaching and small‑group coaching sessions.
- Guide students in exploring career preferences, strengths, values and interests using self‑assessment and profiling tools.
- Coach students throughout their four‑year journey on early career exploration, internship and job search strategies.
- Deliver information and resources on resume writing, interview skills, job search strategies, industry skill frameworks and career workshops.
- Conduct mandatory small‑group resume critiques and mock interview coaching sessions (ML0004).
- Engage students, student groups and faculty in career awareness and preparation activities.
- Design and customise school‑specific career initiatives such as industry talks, alumni sessions and bespoke workshops.
- Serve as point of contact for school leadership on career‑related matters and support outreach programmes like Career Day.
Required profile
- A recognised degree with 9‑10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in career coaching, counselling, graduate recruitment, HR or related fields.
- Relevant career‑coaching certification(s) and qualifications in self‑assessment and career profiling tools.
- Proven change‑agent mindset, initiating new ideas to raise awareness of CAO services.
- Strong initiative, self‑motivation and focus on helping students achieve career success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
- Meticulous organisational and administration abilities, with strong interpersonal teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
