EHS Officer – Safety & Environmental Management

About the role

The EHS Officer will lead safety initiatives across all NB Development sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and government agencies to create a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site safety team and subcontractors to implement and maintain the company’s safety systems.
• Collaborate with site operations staff and project managers to address safety and health concerns promptly.
• Supervise safety practices and promote safe conduct among all personnel on site.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
• Perform safety audits, gap analyses, and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist in accident reporting, investigations, and preventive measures.
• Facilitate toolbox meetings to communicate safety updates.
• Support safety planning and develop incident‑prevention strategies.
• Prepare for and participate in ISO OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 audits.
• Liaise with government agencies, insurers, and auditors on safety matters.
• Perform any other duties required under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.

Required profile

• MOM‑registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
• NEA‑registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects, including HDB projects.
• Strong communication skills to engage across departments.
• Willingness to work alternate Saturdays.

Required skills

• MOM‑registered WSHO certification.
• NEA‑registered ECO certification.
• Knowledge of ISO OHSAS 45001 standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 standards.
