Internet Travel Consultant (Rakuten Travel)

About the role

Rakuten Travel is one of the leading online travel agencies in Japan, offering a wide range of local accommodation listings since 2001. As an Internet Travel Consultant, you will grow inbound travel demand by optimising hotel partners' online sales performance, developing targeted accommodation strategies and strengthening long-term partnerships through data-driven, consultative engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage inbound travel initiatives from Japan by supporting hotel partnerships and promoting properties to the Japanese market
• Analyse partner performance and provide insights, primarily for hotel partners
• Advise partners on win-win outcomes that improve their online sales performance
• Develop and curate accommodation packages and promotional plans
• Support the creation and execution of customised online pages and campaigns
• Drive business development to increase advertising revenue from partners
• Provide customer service and operational support to local partners
• Handle additional ad hoc tasks as required

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry or a related field
• Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, multicultural environment with a proven track record of strong results
• Demonstrated self-motivation, resilience and consistent performance in travel or a related industry
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively drive partnership opportunities
• Solid business acumen with experience in sales or revenue-driven roles
• Customer-focused mindset with experience in client or customer service
