Lecturer – Electrical Engineering & Next‑Gen Connectivity

About the role

The university seeks an enthusiastic Lecturer to deliver and develop courses in electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering, with a focus on emerging connectivity technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and teach modules covering circuit analysis, analogue and digital electronics, instrumentation, RF fundamentals, antennas, optical fibre and wireless communications.
• Introduce cutting‑edge topics such as 5G/5G‑Advanced, 6G fundamentals, Open RAN, private 5G, IoT/AIoT, LPWAN, edge computing, cloud‑native telecom and smart‑city connectivity.
• Develop laboratory sessions and project work involving AI‑enabled wireless communications, network optimisation, intelligent radio resource management and AI‑assisted network planning.
• Run CET programmes, including Specialist and Part‑time Diplomas.
• Supervise student projects, internships and applied learning activities.
• Collaborate with industry and university partners on curriculum development and applied projects.
• Support outreach, student development and administrative duties.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in electronics, electrical engineering, communications and networking.
• Knowledge or exposure to wireless/mobile communications, IP networking, RF or optical communications, 5G/5G‑Advanced, IoT or edge computing.
• Interest or experience in AI/ML applications for communications (e.g., AI‑enabled network optimisation, network analytics, intelligent wireless planning, predictive maintenance).
• Ability to use AI tools for engineering, teaching and projects.
• Passion for teaching, mentoring and engaging students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
