Secondary School Educator – Autism-focused School

About the role

Pathlight School, Singapore’s first autism‑focused school offering the national curriculum, is seeking passionate educators for its secondary programme. You will work with students aged 13‑18 on the autism spectrum, delivering academic content while supporting life‑readiness skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, paced lessons that address diverse learner profiles.
• Use evidence‑based pedagogy and meaningful activities to meet individual education needs.
• Implement varied assessment methods, provide accurate feedback, and close learning gaps.
• Build strong, caring relationships with students and support their holistic development.
• Develop and monitor IEP/ITP goals in partnership with families, caregivers, and allied professionals.
• Utilise AAC methods, adaptive/assistive devices, and learning technology to enhance student learning.
• Maintain safe, structured classroom routines and manage challenging behaviours.
• Participate in professional development, collaborative learning teams, and school committees.
• Assist with co‑curricular activities and maintain communication with external stakeholders.
• Handle administrative tasks such as attendance tracking.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver curriculum for secondary subjects.
• Commitment to student‑centred, data‑driven instruction.
• Experience collaborating with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to adopt specialised strategies for autism support.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods.
• Proficiency with adaptive/assistive learning devices and educational technology.
