Senior Director, Asia Government Affairs & Strategic Policy

About the role

The Senior Director, Asia Government Affairs & Strategic Policy will lead Qualcomm’s engagement with governments across key Southeast Asian markets. This senior leader will shape policy, drive ecosystem development and support the adoption of Qualcomm technologies in AI, edge computing, data centres, 6G and semiconductor innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, monitor and influence emerging policy, regulatory and technology frameworks affecting Qualcomm’s business in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
• Engage ministries, regulators, digital‑economy agencies and industry associations to develop technology‑neutral, innovation‑friendly policies.
• Produce policy positions, consultation responses, white papers and government‑engagement strategies.
• Position Qualcomm as a trusted advisor on AI, semiconductors, data‑centre and advanced connectivity trends.
• Collaborate with commercial, business‑development and engineering teams to capture public‑sector opportunities and funding.
• Support executive‑level government visits, prepare briefing materials and coordinate senior leadership engagements.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs or diplomacy.
• Deep APAC experience across multiple major markets.
• Strong understanding of technology policy, AI, semiconductors, connectivity and trade issues.
• Proven ability to set regional strategy, manage geographically distributed teams and align HQ priorities with local realities.
• Executive presence with senior‑level government and C‑suite stakeholders.
