Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist – Specialized Histopathology

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join the Department of Pathology at TTSH. The role focuses on specialized histopathology, supporting accurate clinical diagnoses through advanced laboratory techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Perform histology and ancillary tests (IHC, EM, SGT, FISH, NGS) on histopathology and cytopathology specimens.
• Operate, maintain, and document laboratory equipment ensuring compliance with maintenance charts.
• Assist the Section Leader in preparing for inspections by licensing, regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous education programs.
• Co‑supervise and train staff, and coordinate ongoing learning activities.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Section Leader or Head of Service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or equivalent.
• Accreditation from a recognized professional body (e.g., ASCP) is advantageous.
• Prior experience in histology techniques, especially on specialized benches such as sectioning, frozen section, grossing, and special stains.
