3rd Shift Manufacturing Operations Manager

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a 3rd Shift Manufacturing Operations Manager in Singapore. The role supervises employees involved in production and operation functions such as assembly, inspection, test and final test, covering capital equipment and systems, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical components, subassemblies and subsystems.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize production schedules based on manpower, equipment efficiency, capacity and material requirements.
• Take part in operational meetings, track performance metrics, schedule milestone meetings and improve cycle time and other metrics.
• Respond quickly to operations issues affecting customer satisfaction, ensure conformance to customer and vendor requirements, and initiate corrective action on quality issues.
• Prevent employee accidents and injuries, ensure all staff (including temporary workers) receive environmental, health and safety training, and monitor compliance with safety policies.
• Develop personnel through training and career development, manage performance goals, and oversee hiring, rewards and disciplinary processes.
• Plan for maximum production capacity, implement processes that collect and report real-time manufacturing data, and drive Lean, safety and quality improvements.

Required profile

• Formal supervisory responsibilities, setting priorities and coaching employees to meet daily deadlines.
• Ability to use judgment to solve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
• Tactful handling of sensitive issues and ability to deal with customers, vendors or suppliers.
• Understanding of Applied Materials' global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with them.

The position is full time, with travel of about 10% of the time; relocation is not eligible.
