Accountant - Retail

About the role

Our client, a multinational luxury consumer retail organisation, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its Finance team in Singapore. The role provides broad exposure across general accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax and statutory compliance, supporting the company’s regional operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage General Ledger activities through to trial balance, including journal entry preparation and posting.
• Prepare treasury reporting packages and support cash‑flow management.
• Produce monthly management, inventory and notes to the accounts reports.
• Prepare quarterly cash‑flow statements, balance‑sheet reporting and GST submissions.
• Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
• Compile ad‑hoc management and statutory/government reports as required.
• Liaise with external auditors, preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for corporate tax preparation.
• Maintain and update the fixed‑asset register.
• Perform intercompany balance reconciliations and coordinate confirmations during month‑end closing.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and other finance‑related projects.

Required profile

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3‑5 years of full‑set accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Experience with GST and corporate tax preparation is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP/accounting systems is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, hands‑on attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
