Accounting & Tax Specialist – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting & Tax Specialist on a six‑month contract to support Rakuten’s Accounting and Tax teams in Singapore. The role offers hands‑on experience in day‑to‑day finance operations, budget monitoring and compliance within a fast‑paced corporate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and employee reimbursements.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of fixed‑asset management systems, including tracking and stock‑take support.
• Contribute to process‑improvement and AI‑driven initiatives for accounting operations.
• Prepare basic tax data, supporting schedules and assist with GST and corporate income‑tax filings.
• Support tax reconciliations, documentation filing and deadline tracking.
• Monitor tax‑related budgets, expenses and assist with invoice processing and vendor procurement.
• Provide general administrative support to the Accounting and Tax teams.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in accounting and tax operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting and tax concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and immediate availability preferred.
