Accounts Officer (General Ledger)

About the role

The Accounts Officer (General Ledger) will ensure timely month‑end closing, accurate financial reporting and robust account reconciliations. Working closely with the Finance Manager, the role supports statutory compliance, tax schedule preparation and audit activities while driving continuous improvement in finance operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain pre‑payment schedules, journal entries, accruals, reversals and warranty provisions.
• Analyse operating expenses and perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, including GL foreign‑currency revaluation.
• Prepare tax schedules, withholding tax (WHT) calculations and supporting documentation.
• Review bank reconciliations, stock disposals, production cycle counts and monitor Goods‑in‑Transit balances.
• Support J‑SOX compliance, government survey submissions and internal control reviews.
• Assist with management reporting, financial analysis and annual audit preparation.
• Participate in system enhancements, user‑acceptance testing and process‑improvement projects.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance support such as inventory stock‑takes and fixed‑asset verification.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• ACCA (partly qualified) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial accounting or related finance functions.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end closing, financial reporting and account reconciliation.

Required skills

• SAP ERP (or similar accounting system) experience.
