Assistant Director, Data Automation & ML Ops Lead

About the role

NHG is looking for a forward-thinking leader to drive intelligent data automation, AI model operationalisation and data governance across the organisation. As Data Automation & ML Ops Lead, you will lead a team of analysts and engineers in delivering data solutions, deploying AI-driven applications and enabling secure data access through de-identification and anonymisation services, supporting the organisation's digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data analysts and engineers to deliver intelligent automation and AI-enabled solutions.
• Partner with clinical, operational and business stakeholders to design scalable data solutions that improve data extraction, management and reporting.
• Drive the deployment and adoption of AI and analytics models, including application development and enterprise-wide implementation.
• Set up governance, monitoring and maintenance frameworks so deployed solutions stay reliable, secure and effective.
• Lead the Trusted Third Party (TTP) function, providing data de-identification, anonymisation and re-identification services in line with data security and privacy requirements.
• Develop and strengthen TTP protocols and processes for responsible data access and use.
• Work with internal technology teams, vendors and external partners to resolve technical issues and deliver solutions.
• Keep up with emerging AI, agentic AI, intelligent automation, database and programming technologies and turn them into practical solutions.
• Contribute to strategic planning and capability building within the Division of Informatics and Data.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8-10 years of experience in data management, data engineering, analytics, automation or AI-related roles.
• Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders to design and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Required skills

• Hands-on programming in Python and SQL.
• Experience deploying and operationalising AI models; exposure to MLOps is an advantage.
• Experience with data storage, processing, analytics and distribution platforms.
• Preferred: knowledge of data anonymisation, de-identification and re-identification techniques.
• Advantageous: familiarity with SharePoint, HTML, XML, VBA and major cloud or enterprise platforms.
• Strong documentation and solution design skills, turning business needs into technical requirements.
